Recycling?

Yeah, that's what we'll call it. I have a friend who is always changing his cell phone plan or carrier and as a result he has a bunch of old phones laying around. For Valentine's Day I bought a couple of cheap matching phones for the girls. After doing a factory reset, olivia loaded them with educational apps and we got them decals so they can tell whose is whose and there will be no fighting over them. We put them in airplane mode and use an app called Kids Zone Parental Controls that only lets them use the apps we have selected. That means no accidentally changing settings, trying to make calls, getting on the web, etc. Basically we got the girls a couple cheap tablet-like toys with tons of free games available and digital cameras for about $20. They ended up being a big hit.

Songsmith

olivia and the girls were off school earlier this week due to icy roads and general bad weather conditions. The solution? Download the Songsmith demo and make some music. The girls are usually great singers but it seems like they got a little performance anxiety knowing the mic was there. All the same, it cured the boredom...temporarily.

Brenda Ladun Conquer Cancer Run

So if you ever read my other blog and you read this post, you'll remember that my mom is a breast cancer survivor. When given the chance, I try and do things to benefit cancer research. This is such an event. My race buddy Kellet and I were itching to do another run after the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Dash and this is it. We formed a team, Running for Grace, and if you are free Saturday March 1st at 8:00 am, we would enjoy having you run, jog, welk, etc with us. We had a great time at the last one so we figured the more the merrier. Come have fun with us and support a great cause at the same time.
Even if you can't make it or this isn't your thing, you can still donate through that link.

It's Not What You Think

My wife has great timing. Leave it to her to start a bathroom renovation project the day she gets home from the Snowpocalypse. I'm out picking up our stranded car and running to the grocery store and this is what I come home to. If she hadn't been stuck and away from me for the two days prior she would be really likely to go missing again. Admittedly, she told me this was coming but supposedly not until Spring Break. I guess a random inclement weather day is an acceptable stand-in.

I figured most of you would blame the girls, something like this post. The kids had nothing to do with it, this was all olivia. Just in case you were wondering, this is not the proper way to remove toggle bolts.
